Yes they can but they aren't very nutritious and can cause a bit of diarrhea because of the high water content. :)

Yes they can, but like Bea said it isn't that good for them and may cause diharea. Carrots are really good and so is broccoli. Donna has a big list for you so you can just read that. But make sure to wash some of them before giving the veggies to the budgies and if htey don't eat it right away they just might not be used to it.

Hope it all goes well,
-Skye

Our birds love cucumber. We usually cut it in half so the seeds on the inside are exposed. They love to pick out and eat all the seeds on the inside. It's funny to see a hallowed-out cucumber left a couple hours later. :P

Doesn't lettuce have a high water content too?

it does, plus even worse vitamin than a cucumber! but if you add it to their other veggies, there is nothing wrong with it. try to use something other than iceberg. i use romaine with their other veggies

Its nice just as a treat, as long as they have the regular budgie seeds aswell as veggies and fruits then they will get enough vitamins xx

Yes it does. Like everyone has said, lettuce shouldn't be given unless they are eating other healthy vegetables as well.

It is a great veggie starter though. It's how I got my budgies to eat their veggies and fruits. I like to use green leaf and red leaf lettuce instead of romaine. They are stronger tasting but my budgies nibbled all the way. If your budgies don't like the strong taste, then romaine will do :)

Vegetables are essential to their diet and health. It may take some time if they have never their veggies and fruits before, but after a while, they will start a liking to it :)
