Fruit and Veggies

So i was at the store today and i saw some Fruit and Veggie Seeds for parakeet .Can you give them to substitute for real Fruits and veggies? Another thing they had was Molting and conditioning Food should you give them that?The last thing i was wondering about is some breeding food thing I'm not sure what the name of it was. Does anyone know what i'm talking about?Well if you do can you tell me if that works or if it helps at all.

I think you can give them both, but I prefer the fresh veggies and I think they do too. I also buy the moulting and conditioning food too, always have. Don't know about the breeding food though, but someone on here will for sure.:) :budgie:

First thing i would do is check the ingredients - i'd say they'd all be pretty similar and not worth the effort. The fruit and veggie seed would not be a substitute for fresh veggies - chances are the fruit and veg would just get picked around anyway. My inside boys get seed that has herbs and veg added
(supposedly) but it's a tiny % of the total mix and i'm not sure that it gets eaten - it just makes the seed smell nice. :P

I suppose you can give those to your budgies as a supplement to normal seeds and veggies and fruit xxxx :)

Fresh is always best. I dont give any different seed when it comes to a molt. with 25+ birds, they are allways molting!

Today i gave them strawberries and they tried it they didn't eat the strawberries just the seeds and the juice. I also gave them grated carrots,zuchini and,brocoli and i mixed some millet with it. I'm not sure if they tried the zucchini but i saw all of them try the carrots and 3 of them tried the brocoli.I'm so happy this is the most they've tried .:):)

That's great progress that they have tasted the fruits and veggies. Most budgies won't even try for the first few days.

How did the kiwi come along? My budgies like them occassionally :)

They either hid or ate 2 slices of kiwi :). They've eaten more carrot since i went in there last, The only thing i don't think they liked was the zuchini:(

Zuchini does have some what of a strong taste, so they probably need some more time to get used to it.

But it's a great start!

Yeah i was going to give them corn too but i only had canned corn.:(

Oh ok . Cause i just found out we had some.How about canned peas?

You should only give fresh or frozen peas not canned peas.
