today i got electra out..:badidea: and we tried to calm her down , worked for about 3 mins.. then she flew and yeah yeah.. i got her back and saw that some of her beak was off like a flake of it or layer not a chip. just a layer or something do birds beaks have layer? is she going to be okay?

Flakey beaks are quite common, and normal (unless the budgie has a persistently flakey beak). Beaks are sort of like skin in that it peels to expose newer and fresher layers. As long as your budgie's beak isn't cracking, then the little sweetie should be just fine. :p

i have not noticed any cracking maybe some creasing where the layers are but thats it,. thanks

Yes they are common dont worry, if its an overgrown beak then you have to worry....lol!

Wendy's beak was also flakey when i got her but it is recovered now.... so hopefully electra's beak will be ok too :)

Don't worry if she was hert she could let you know...I saw a bird with a broken beak.....like the others said as long as there are no cracks:)
Poor broken beaked budgie, did it survive?
