Most people pull the chicks out around 3 weeks of age and hand feed them till the are 7 weeks old or weaned. It's best to leave hand feeding to someone who is exeperienced. If you really want to do it I suggest finding an avian vet or wildlife rehabilitator who is willing to train you. I'd suggest that you socialize them while they are still young and let the hen feed the chicks. That is if the hen is alright with you touching and being in her territory. I did it with my budgies and they turned out great, no problem's with the female either.
Hope that helps, if not other can add some insight.

You dont need to hand feed them to tame them. Just start increasing the amount of time you spend with them after the 3 week age mark. Feeding offers little if any benefits over simply spending time with them as they should soon be weaning themselves anyway and then all you will do is spend time with them to tame them anyway.

I start to handle the young in the nest from day one ,in 16 years i have had no problems with them and at the moment i have 14 young in 3 nests and all have been hand held since day one, last year i had 107 young no problem ,,if you knock on your nest box before you open it your hen will get used to it and leave your box,,

Hello :)
I've been reading this post for a while now, gathering general information hehe. So I finally decided to join it :) So, new to posting, but have been on this site many times. I must say though that the idea to knock on the nesting box before opening it sounds like a very simple but effective technique. I very much appreciate the tip!
