Hey guys, I have 2 pairs of budgies and I was wondering what are some problems with breeding 2 pairs of parakeets in the same cage because i have 4 parakeets and they all are in the cage together and I have 2 nest boxes in it. Do you think i should keep the pairs in different cages because I have an extra cage.

i would separate them because females get very aggressive and may/will kill other babies. my 2 pairs im breeding right now are separated.

It is a much better idea to have one pair per cage. The cage would probably be too small for 4 birds, when breeding, as the females need a lot of space. They can fight with eachother and hurt, or even kill, the other.
Just not a good idea. If you can, then have them in two separate cages when breeding. :)

Ok guys I will separate them, but is it possible to breed 2 pairs in the same cage because when my cousin use to raise parakeets he would just let his pairs breed in the same cage and he would have like 10 in the cage but they would still make babies.

having them a pair to a cage is a most to stop disappointment of dead chicks and fighting hens
they will breed fine on there own...its the way it's done!

good luck with breeding:)
