Getting TWO cockatiels....

Hello,
I've finally found a breeder in my area for a cockatiel, im getting two on the weekend.
A lutino and white faced cinnamon/pied. Im picking up the cag eon saturday and the birds on sunday afternoon. Ill post pics once i get them.

yes I'm really excited, although i still miss having budgies. Ill probably get budgies as well after x-mas sometime, but for now i cant wait to get the tiels! yes i will post lots of pics.

lucky you I´mdying to get a whiteface pied, currently i hace a cinnamon pied (very lightly, almost non noticeable)

I guess you have your Cage by now but, I cant wait to see pics and hear all about your new Tiels!!! :) I love Cockatiels and they are another bird I would eventually like to have lol :)...My next birds after my Sun Conure though will be Lovebirds I think!! :D

There 12 weeks old.. well probably like 13 weeks now since the breeder said that like on monday, and yes i ahve my cage all set up now i dont have a very good variety perches at the moment although im ordering some on the internet because ther cheaper than the petstore. I also want to get a few more toys tomorrow the cage looks pretty empty and boring right now.

After my Tiels settle in im probably going to get a few budgies, i was planning on breeding the budgies but i dont know now. I may also get a sun Conure like next year or so since i love them, i think there absolutley gorgeous!

Well i cant wait till tomorrow, i will post lots of pics when i do get them, that is if my digi camera cooroperates with me. :D

How big is the cage? Are they staying in the same cage?

yes they are in the same cage, the cage is 30" x 18" x 38" so its plenty big enough for the two of them.They get along together really well because the breeder kept all the babies in the same cage pretty much ever since they were aloud to like go on there own and stuff and there not realated so if the grey is male then i could breed if i wanted to.

Oh ok i was just going to ask if they were siblings. I'm not sure, but from all the other tiels i've seen yours looks like a girl.Just an opinion by the way

ya im not sure i know the lutino is female but not sure if the grey one is male/female but its very vocal and is really sweet, the female i dont has chirped or q/w since i got them home and she is a bit more moody which iknow thats what the females are like but ya. i dont think im gunna breed them anyway so im not really concerned about the gender,so i probably wont get him/her a dna test or w/e although i might. i dont think its really worth it if your not breeding.

awwww cockatiels are fantastic! There is an easy way to sex tiels....most of the time, the male is much more vocal. If your lutino is quieter than the grey one, then she is a female. Females can talk, but it is much harder to understand what they say because they are quieter...males on the other hand, well, they sometimes never stop talking and whistling :D

aww thanks, uhh ya i know my lutino i know is female, but im unsure of the whitefaced cinniamon/pied(split) but im thinking its a make because he/she is alot more vocal than the lutino which is a girl and he has alot of white on the head, and i heard with cinnamons they get a lot of white on ther head.

My playgym isnt handmade, i got it on sale from a petstore when i gto the cage because the company that it was made from had to shut down or something so i got it at a really good price.

Also i was thinking fo trying to teach Shylow/shiloh(cinnamon pied ,the grey looking one) to talk but i heard it harder if there caged with another bird. I leave the radio on everyday when i goto school though, so maybe one day i can make a tape/cd of mys elf saying random words athe leaving it o all day, or buy one becaus ei know you can buy them but ya.

uhh ther like 14 weeks i beleive now... so like 3 and half months or so...and thanks for the compliments everyone
