Hello there
I have two budgies named Belinda + George.
I have read that they must not only eat seed and I have given them fruit and vegetables but they dont eat it.
And also all of their white feathers are turning pink.
HELP!!!!!:

It sounds like you've got an interesting situation. So just to clarify, your budgies aren't eating the veggies and fruit, but they ARE eating the seed? If that is the case, then your situation is not the unusual. Budgies can take several months before they will eat new things like veggies. However, here are some things you can do so it will encourage them to try the fresh food:

1. Eat the veggies and fruit in front of your budgies (it may sound silly, but budgies sometimes do follow by example, much like children!)

2. Consider provinding their veggies and fruit in a feeder with a mirror. Sometimes this fools them into thinking that another budgie is checking out the new food and they actually end up eating it because the budgie in the mirror is.

3. Offer the veggies every day and the fruit once in a while. I know it may sound like a waste of food to offer it daily, especially if they never eat it, but it becomes more familiar to them if they see that type of food on a daily basis.

4. Try steaming broccoli and cutting it up into very small pieces. Then provide it to them in a little cup once it is cooled. Many budgies won't eat raw broccoli, but they will eat it cooked.

5. When giving carrots, grate the fresh carrots finely and serve it in a small dish. Many budgies won't knaw on a carrot stick.

6. Always offer only small portions of the veggies and fruit. You don't want to overwhelm them with a huge portion!

7. Consider wetting the veggies and then clipping them in the cage with one of those special cage clips. Sometimes budgies like to pick at the water on the veggies, and it may even them to actually exploring and trying the vegetable

I hope this helps. Good luck with your sweeties and let us know how they do!! :p

There are some good tips there! I might even try them out!

But I wonder why their white feathers are turning pink?
Maybe they just need a bath?

No the strawberry for example would dye the feathers but yes a bath would help

Also if there's a pink calcium perch that could be doing it.

Oh yes, that's a good point.
