WELL...i got tired of trying. i gave up on trying to finger train Stormy before i put him in with Jeri. so i introduced them a week ago, and now they are happily sharing the same cage. Stormy influenced Jeri to finally try some of his veggies, and Jeris teaching Stormy to not spaz out when i put my hand in the cage! so i guess its working out okay. just wanted to share the somewhat-good news! :D

You will be able to finger train sweetie, it may take you longer than expected. Dont give up xxx

I'm glad your two budgies are getting along :) And it's a bonus that Stormy has intorduced veggies to Jeri :D as well as becing more calm and consistent.

And as redgirl has said, Stormy is as capable as to be finger trained as any other budgie, Stormy just seems to be taking his/her time :)

oh i havent lost faith in training yet! i took Jeri and Stormy into my bathroom today (its the only place where there's nothing to run and hide under!) and while Jeri was on my hand i held a perch in the same hand and followed Stormy around with it til i finally got him to jump onto it!! so i sat there awhile and let them play on the hand...it was great! ive NEVER gotten Stormy to calmy sit on finger before. but when i tried to get up and get them back to their cage, Stormy flew off, and Jeri followed. but after a little chasing ive got them both back in their cage... hopefully tomorrow things go as nicely :eek:

The extra perch works brilliantly, but the only problem is weaning your budgie to your finger from the perch. I did this method with Joley and it does work it just takes a wee bit of time to swap perch to finger. Sounds like your training is going very well. One 2 one training is a good thing to do too xxxx
