Staff Update - New Staff, New Positions

The staff system here has been changed a bit. We have added three new staff members to the list and two new positions. I hope these changes will make everyone's time here more enjoyable. :)

New Moderator
With the recent staff departures, we needed to hire at least one new moderator to fill in the void. So far, we have hired one new moderator. Our new moderator is well known around here. He is one of our younger members, but he is a valued member (who actually just won MOTM). I'm happy to announce our new moderator is Brandon (aka helloyo53). Brandon will be starting out moderating the Budgie Talk forum, and all of its subforums (stories, behavior, housing, etc.), as he learns the ropes of being a staff member. The staff is all looking forward to working with him and we think he'll make a great addition to the staff. :D

Chat Moderator
The chat room is a fun addition to TB, but it is sometimes viewed as a place where rules don't always apply. I want to remind everyone that the forum rules do apply to the chat room. To help enforce the rules when other staff aren't chatting, we wanted to hire someone who is in the chat room a lot. For our first ever chat moderator, we chose Suenem (aka brazilianangel). She will be keeping an eye on the chat room and making sure everyone is following the rules. She'll report any bad behavior to the staff, and she can kick you out of the chat room too. Suenem is certainly one of our top posters and chatters, so we feel she will do a great job keeping the chat room in order. :D

Contest Moderator
I didn't forget about the promise "john m" made on April Fools Day about more contests. We plan on having more contests more often here at TB. We know you guys and gals all enjoy the contests, so we want to do them more often. However, putting together contests can often be tough without one person put in charge. To solve this problem, we've hired someone to be in charge of the contests. Our new contest moderator will come up with new contest ideas (and use old ideas as well), and will run/host the contests. The pick for this new position was easy. Who better to help out with contests than the Next Top Model creator, Phillip (aka Budgietom)? You'll see Phillip in the contest area running our contests. If you have any contest ideas, you can post them in the Contest Ideas thread or you can send them to Phillip. :D

I want to congratulate all of our new staff members: Brandon, Suenem, and Phillip. They will all help to keep our community a fun and informative place. I'm looking forward to working with them all. :budgie:

We're putting together something right now along those lines (Cliff's idea). Once we get that up, I'll look into getting a map. I used to have one for another site. I have to figure out how to do it for here now.

Since you're in a new usergroup, the system hasn't updated your wings yet. Next time it runs an update (which is a couple times a day), you'll get your new wings. :)
