Just started to talk

I'm so excited I tried so long to get my Budgie Kylie to talk, and just now when I had my budgies, I have been getting Kylie to say "Pretty Bird' and just today I heard him say it clearly to his mirror. I tried so long and I'm so happy, I guess from here I can teach him some more words.

Thanks. I'm surprised bacause people say it takes long to get a bird to talk, but I have only been training him to talk for a couple months.

maybe this has been posted somewhere else and I missed it, but I also want to train my budgie to talk, what methods did you use??

I just kept repeating the words "Pretty Bird!" to him everyday and he picked it up and started saying it to his mirror. Just pick out one easy word first and say it to your Budgie everyday and he'll soon try and say them. good Luck let us know if how training goes.

I will be trying to get Willow to talk too, how old is your budgie who talks, his he over 7 mths xx

Yer he is isnt he, I will keep doing it with Willow soon, I recon the first thing he will say is Willow baby cos thats what I say to him all the time x

My Budgie Kylie right now is a year and 5 months

My Alfie says loads of words and phrases. Once the first word comes it gets easier for them. Some words i taught Alfie took him a couple of days to learn and some weeks. It really depends on the difficultly of pronunciation. Words ending 'ie' are easier for them to learn such as pretty, budgie etc
