Shower!

Well, Kiki went in the shower with me for the first time today. I had her on the towel rack and she seemed to be enjoying herself chirping to the sound of the water. it was not until about halfway through the shower when I got her to step up on my finger and she started to move to my shoulder, then the water trickled down my arm and got her then she flipped out. She jumped off and fluttered down to the bottom so I picked her up immediately then she chilled on the little rack that I have hanging from the faucet. All in all I think she did very well though. I think this is how she is going to be bathed from now on since she hates anything else. Thanks for the idea! :D

That's Great, I'm glad it worked, maybe in some time Kiki will get a little more used to it.
I think i might give gus a break from the shower for the next few months unless it's warm, autumn is coming on strong now and winter not too far off. I wouldn't want the little fella to get a chill. does anyone know how suseptable budgies are to the cold?

I am so happy to hear that Kiki did so well in the shower! What a great way to bond with your little sweetie! :p

As far as budgies being susceptible to the cold, they can actually tolerate fairly wide variations in temperature (as long as that change isn't drastic, but rather gradual). And you certainly don't want your sweetie to be exposed to drafts (either hot or cold!) Of course you're definitely right about not having your budgie bathe when it is chilly (wet and cold means one unhappy and potentially sick budgie!) Since we're just getting into spring here, the temperature is now just warming up to a temperature that will be suitable for my budgies to be taking regular baths. :D

Well, we took another one yesterday and she seemed to be more comfortable. Not only am I happy that this is helping her get used to bathing but it also is seeming to help pher get closer to me since lately I have felt like I have hit a plateau on the training process. :D

I love to take snowy in the shower. What he likes to do is get on the floor of the shower and he plays in the water. Sometimes he just sits there with the water splashing on him. He is so cute!!!:p

well done its winter here where i live so ill wait till spring to bathe missy i might try the shower approach
