Hi folks!
We recently got this little fella (about a month ago) called him chalky not because he's white but after Rick Steins dog!

He's still very afraid of hands being near him but we talk to him while close & he doesn't bat an eyelid, anyone got any tips? :S
He's a very talkative guy & his cage is always open for him to have a flutter about, he goes right back in when he's bored so thats good! Just gotta get him finger-trained now!

Hi Rob_B and welcome to the forum! Congratulations on getting your little fellow. Very adorable! I see you have the Vision cage!
As far as getting your little sweetie used to your hands, have you considered offering millet? That can help your budgie see that hands can sometimes mean something good is coming their way. If you are patient, you can progress from simply holding the millet near him, to getting him close enough to just touch your hand, and eventually to stepping up onto your finger to get at the millet. :p
Anyone else got any suggestions?
Good luck with your sweetie pie and let us know how he is doing!! :)
You could try perch training, more on that in another thread.
Is he totally white with pink eyes? (Albino?) Lily is!

Yep! has some pure white patches around his beak (like your billy has but blue/green) which you can see when you're close up!
Trying him with millet, starting far away but eventually moving closer & closer!
Looks like a nice bird! :D I can't wait to hear more about him.

I meant like the alternate coloured bits Billy has near his beak, chalky has them but instead of blue on yellow its whiter on white!
So does Lily! They are called cheek spots. Isn't it funny that albino budgies have pure white cheek spots, they do show up quite a lot don't they!

Yea its gorgeous!! :D glad i know what they are called now.
Albinos don't have throat spots. (The black ones that Billy had started to get when the pic in my signature was taken) And that is very weird. I supose it's because they don't have any pigments.

Yeay! He is taking millet from us and eating seed out of our hands now!! Quick progress but if there is any sudden movement or if i put my hand near the cage without food he just goes mad!!!!
Oh good, I'm glad he's getting tamer!
