I hate leaving mine but I make sure they have plenty of seed and water! Anyway they've got Poppy, my hamster, next to them, to talk to!

Sometimes my neighbour will look after them so they can be fed a lot of millet!

We don't leave ours alone when we go on a vacation/holiday. Either someone's home to take care of them, or they go over my grandparents' house. If they're not home, they'll go to the local bird store. So my answer is never.

My answer would be never as well. If I am to leave for vacation, then I will have someone take care of them. Mostly because my budgies need a lot of attention :p

Never. I always leave my budgies with my parents if I am going to be away overnight, even for one night. My budgies have been known to have the occasional night fright, so I wouldn't want them to have one and have no one around to settle them down and make sure they didn't hurt themselves. :p

I'm never too. If i have to go away (like i can't get out of it) then Blinks goes to my friends place and my friend comes over everyday to feed and water the other budgies.

Seems most people are saying never so I added the option to the poll.

When I go on vacation, which is three or four times a year, I arrange for a "bird-sitter" to come over and take care of my three outside aviaries and whatever birds are inside. Usually, I leave in the evening, so they are taken care of that day by me. I, then, put out enough food and water to last two days. The sitter comes over on the third day and each day thereafter. (We also have orchids and various exotic plants that need watering but the birds are the most important.)

I'm one of the lucky ones mine never get left alone. My mum-in-law lives with us and she loves the birds as well, she isalways checking them to make sure they have plenty of feed, gum leaves, milk thistles and water, as well as keeping an eye on all the chooks and ducks.
I never go on holidays everyone comes up here

I haven't been on holiday while I've had Oscar but when I stayed at my boyfriend's place for 4 days in a row I took Oscar with me. Plus it was very hot and my boyfriend had air conditioning so it was nice and cool. My dearly missed Ozzie used to go everywhere with me. If I went to see friends he'd come too. He used to love going for rides in the car cause he would always get really excited as I strapped him in. I was that attached to him. Everyone used to think it was weird that i'd take my bird everywhere with me. I guess you have to own one to truly understand how special and attached you become to them.

3 days is the most I've ever left my sweeties alone! But as they are nearly breeding they will be looked after by my neighbour.

I have so many, I can't take them all! So sometimes I just take my hamster and my budgies.

when I first got trisket i lived with a long term boyfriend and when we went camping I would always make him drive me home each day for a couple of hours to check on her and pay attention to her lol (we camped very close to home), and sence the break up I've been living in a basment apartment in my grand parents house so if I can ever allow myself to leave for more than a night, they'll be there... but so far I can't do it lol I actually had a nightmare one time that trisket died!!! while I was out for one night at a friends and I had to rush home in the morning to make sure it wasn't prophetic lol :D ... i think i might need help lol

We always leave our birds in the care of our relatives for about a week.
