Today would be only the third day I've had Drakey, and he is doing SO good with training. The first day I just let him get used to his cage and surroundings. The second day I brought him in the bathroom and worked with him, I got him to step up on perches, and by the end of the second day I got him to step up on my finger..only for a second then he hopped back ontop of his cage. Today was the most exciting part...I took out the perch and had him step up, then i tried it with my finger and he stepped up without hesitation! He stayed on my finger this time too! I just talked to him quietly and told him what a good boy he was and every now and then switched fingers, this whole thing lasted a few minutes and he didnt go back to his cage once! (he is un-clipped too!) He's really starting to trust me! It just amazes me how quickly he learns to trust me(since he is a year old and was never hand trained before). I must be doing something right.:rolleyes: :D
