Eucalyptus

Gus Won't eat veggies as some may know, I do try but he is still fairly uninterested, but he does seem to like to munch on Eucalyptus and bottlebrush leaves and nuts while he is on his gym i am sometimes unsure weather he is playing with them or actually eating, but he is chewing them. He also LOVES removing and chewing the bark off his gym (I made the whole thing out of Bottlebrush stems).
I was just curious to know if anyone knew if any of these things are particularly nutricious?

I am not really sure about the nutrition of eucalytpus, other than to say that wild budgies will often chew the branches and eat the leaves which you could consider to be a decent source of veggies. Anyone have other thoughts on this? :p

Where would you get Eucalyptus in england?

p.s. i know gus likes some varieties better than others.

Well there's an orchard with some in a few miles down the road!

well i'm not entirely sure of the exact species or cultivar but he does prefer the larger leafed varieties, with the chunkier nuts. the leaves are a much darker deeper lush green compared to some of the more silvery finer leafed varieties and the leaves aren't as slender as the silvery grey types.

he likes to chew unripe and ripe nuts more than the older woody hardened ones. if you can get your hands on some bottle brush flowers your birds will be very thankful as well.

I don't know! I just found out they like it and I live close to one so I gave some to them! lol.
