I've had my guy Willy now for 2 months. When I leave the room amd call his name and do the special whistle I have for him, he replies to me vigorously and with great stamina. That's about the extent of our contact:( I put my had (finger) in the cage very gently, and you'd think I went in with a hammer! Please give me some advice on what to do, I want the closness I use to have with Coco.:)

You will get the closeness but it will take time, and what you cant really do hunni is compare Willy to Coco, I know it is difficult for you because Coco meant the world to you but you have to realise that all birds are different. Patience is a must and to allow time to make progress is very important, but sometimes working too hard may cause delays in your training so just take everyday as it comes and you will get there hunni, good luck xxx:)

I know you're both right, patience is the key....and Red Girl...you are right on the money, I miss Coco sooooo much, that deep down I'm expecting too much from my Willy right now. I know he's still very young, and I know that he does know me very well. He'll hear my voice outside, and start chirping, so yes, that is a perfect start for bonding. I remember when I use to say the same things about Coco....and we ended up closer than ever. Thank you for caring. Feeling better.:)

:) :) :) :budgie: :) :)

Don't give up no matter how discouraged you get. It's all worth the while :)

Your budgie will warm up to you when they trust you, and trusting is a big important factor in training and bonding.

I do care so much hunni, because I have 3 budgies and I have a really close bond with Skyla more than my older two so I can relate to where you are coming from and what you expect, and the nice thing is you will get really close to Willy and he will be lovely like Coco but in his own way and you will have a different bond with Willy to the one you had with Coco so hang in there hunni and all will work out perfectly. Have you got a picture of Coco and Willy would really like to see them both. xxx:)

Hello again sweetie, yes I do have pictures of Coco and Willy. I have been trying to download the pic of Coco and I'm having a real hard time. I'm very computer-wise...just can't seem to do it. The one I have of Willy is in my cell phone, but I don't have the means to get it in yet. Do I need a cable or something to attach to computer to download? If so, where can I get one and how much are they???
I am really dying to participate in the photo end of it. Please help:(
