Im a little bit worried today about Bonding with my Budgies....and Im a little Confused With their Behavior!
She has been doing this the entire time I just really noticed.
My female gets along fine with the mael but, after I reach my hand in their to pet them she just turns into a little Devil and Is so mean to them. He seems really hurt by this and keeps trying to get her attention and get near her but, she is really mean to him and wants nothing to do with him. She eventually gives in When ""SHE"" wants to. She also Will not let him get around the food when she is eating it. She tried some Millet today in her Food Bowl and He got very interested and Curious and decided to go over and try some himself and she snapped at him and he didnt get to eat. He is smaller than her and Im wondering if this is why??..
I did add another Food & Water Dish so, that way if he was really hungry he can use the other one...
I dont know..do you think they need to be seperated???...Or??????
Im pretty Confused on the Situation myself... :S:S

Girls are also very bossy Edie was liek this with Joley at first but they soon got on, give them time hun and I am sure they will be fine. If you are worried though then you could try seperating them but I dont think you will need to xx

Your two sounds like my two. Shiloh is usually the bossy one, but turns into a sweetheart when he wants a preen. They'ren ot as harsh as yours sound though. Shiloh and Grace play with each other, its just Shiloh seems to have more bad days than Gracey.
Keep your eye open to see if the female is injuring the male, by then you will want to seperate them.

My budgies also fought over food because the food dish was too small for the both of them at the same time. Try placing the food in a food tray... where its wider and roomier.
Also, if your male wants some treat, give him seperately so that the female is busy with hers and he still gets his share :)

Are you planning to breed them?

Thanks! :)
No, I dont think these two will ever be bred. Besides I think they are Siblings and really have no way to Verify this. The male has a couple feathers that look out of place on his chest tonight, Not Plucked or anything but, just out of place and Im wondering if the Female might have done this. My dad said he seen the female be mean to him earlier today. So, its happening more often then I was thinking.
I think If I seperated them though they would be Devastated but, I dont want her to be hurting him. I will just have to keep a close eye on them and tell my dad to watch them to and Ill have to decide when enough is enough i guess. They are playing Alot more with their toys but, still have not traveled to the bottom of their cage.

At first they would be upset but they soon get used to it..just have the other cage right next to the other one, I seperated Edie and Joley because I thought Joey was a boy and I had only just realised that Edie was a girl, so I didnt want them mating..but they are fine apart.xxx
