Two of my budgies have gotten into a routine of preening each other. They also feed each other too. One always will go to the other and bend its head forward to be preened. I think they have gotten a little carried away. My male is getting a bald spot on his head and my female, who had feather issues anyway, is getting bald patches. The groom each other so gently and lovingly, I don't think they are being agressive at all, but there are lots of feathers being lost. :budgie:

It's great that they are preening each other. :) It will help them stay much cleaner and healthier, and keep their feathers bright and smooth! :)
I'm not sure why a lot of feathers are being lost. Are you budgies molting right now? Once, my Little Joe was molting and his head was bald for a week or so before new feathers pushed through.
As long as you're not seeing blood or fighting, I think your budgies should be fine.
We'll see what the other members say ;)

Are they molting? What kind of diet do you feed them? Do they exhibit any signs of illness: lethargy, puffing up, abnormal droppings, nasal discharge? Can you post pictures?

They seem to be fine and they love talking to each other and preening and preening. When I got them they were on seeds and cuttle bone. I have introduced lettuce, green beans, corn, apple slice, piece of banana. They won't touch it. They seem to be afraid of the food I put in there. I have one male and 2 females. Everyone seems to get along great. No squabbles to speak of. Eyes bright, noses clear and droppings normal. :budgie::budge::budge:
