When I went to the pet store today to get my Trill for my budgies I noticed bags of Conditioned bird seed, the package states for caged birds and i was just wondering what this food is and if it is suitable for budgies, I am assuming it would be ok but thought I would find out first before I purchase any of it. It also has lots of black seed in it.:)

I've never heard of it before??? what are the black seeds? like Niger/thistle seed? Thats the only black i can think of, besides sunflowers lol.

I wonder if its coated with some kind of oil (cant remember the one breeders use) that helps with their feathers?

I've never heard of conditioned food either. Maybe it's a marketing thing making it sound like the seed is free of any impurities? Not sure...I usually stick with what has been working very well for me, and I only switch if someone who knows what they're talking about knows of a better food :)

that sounds like a good idea...look for testimonials or product reviews. That should help a lot. Remember, it's a company...some only want to sell sell sell. Tell me how your research goes...I've never heard of conditioned seed either, lol

Okay, thanks! I'll make sure I remember that :D I understand about your fear of flying, lol...the first time I flew was to miami in June 2005. I was always petrified of flying as well. When I was on the plane, I freaked at each movement the plane made, lol. Since then I've flown plenty of times because my fiance and I live in Florida, but we visit our family in Delaware, lol. I feel much better about flying now, but still nervous, lol. The plane wasn't so bad though...they give you snacks, put movies on, give you a drink...they even serve alcohol if you're that scared, lol, but I didn't need it. The last time they gave us first class (only ones left on the plane), and we got a huge dinner, a mixture of warm nuts as a snack, etc. Definitely an experience to remember :) Try flying short distance before flying overseas :)

Thats what I am going to save up to do, where I live I can book a course at my local Airport and do this course where at first you just step on to this small plane then after a few sessions you fly for half an hour I think so it will be worth it. My first time will be to Ireland because I think its 45 min away.x

Wales is beautiful and Scotland too and England is lovely too, Yorkshire always has many tourists from America because of its beauty, especially the Yorkshire Dales xx

My grandmother is originally from England, and we still have a lot of family over there...and other parts of the UK. My grandfather on my dads side was interested in our geneology, and found a lot of history about us...everything goes back to wales, even when our name was first used as a last name. I'd love to see the medeival castles! My grandmoather was originally from Birmingham England and left right after WWII. I would like to eventually see the area she lived in, but I don't know if it's still a good area, lol.

I have started my family tree and I am a mixed up person I have Norweigan blood in me Irish blood in me and Scotch. My grandfather was born in Lanarkshire Scotland, his dad was from Colchester in England and his mother was born in Scotland, her mother was born in belfast and her father was born in Oslo Norway, then on the other side my grandparents etc was Irish too. So far I have got back as far as 1842 and thats when my great great grandfather was born in Oslo. xx

She lived in Acocks Green (sp?), but part of her house was bombed in WWII...they weren't in it, thank God. You definitely have a lot in you!! I'm really interested in finding out a lot about my family as well. My grandmother gave me copies of my great grandmother, great great grandmother, and great great great grandmother, lol. She still remembers a lot and tells me so many stories. Either her father, or grandfather (I forget) was an architect, among other things, and one of the things he did was design the alter windows for St. Cuthbert church in winson green. I don't know if it's still standing, but I'll eventually find out, lol. Family history is very interesting!

It is interesting i am just gutted that I cant go further back then what I have, its because my great great grandmother was born in belfast, and all the records where destroyed around the time she was born. all I know is that her father was the head of the Orange order in Ireland. and her hubby was born in Oslo and I aint got a clue how to track records in Norway.xx

Isn't there some court or agency you could call for the records in norway? Maybe someone online could tell you who to contact!

glad to hear you found out about the seeds. flying from enland to hear isnt too bad, its just long. you get movies, music etc. free booze lol. i fly at night, then i can sleep. flying back from the us to uk is amaizing, you usually go over greenland, then ireland, its beautiful. the most amaizing part is when the sun comes up, it really looks like you are flying into a wall, and as the sun gets highter the illusion goes away. very stunning!
you can do it, its only 11 1/2 hours flight from me to you and you to me!
