What are they doing?!

Sometimes, when I go to my birds cage and talk to them, one of them will open their beaks and kind of move their tongue around then close it, without making any noise. I didn't know if they were yawning (if birds even yawn;I have no idea) or if they were maybe warning me to go away? If anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them! Thanks :budge:

Yep birds yawn, they also adjust their crop (looks like they're choking or gagging)

When I had just one Budgie (Tweety) and he finally got comfortable around me he'd do it every time I talked to him, didn't seem to do it any other time, So i chalked it up to him being comfortable around me and maybe trying to talk, But then i got him a friend and well now Tweety wants nothing to do with me, He'd rather hang out with the other 20 or so budgies and the tiels :P
