My female budgie has 5 chicks in her nest box one is albino white, 3 are grey with blue tails, and 1 is filled with alot of different colours. Yesterday i saw the albino one stick his head out of the box it is a little bit more than 3 weeks old. and there is alot drop from the nest box and the floor. So i was wondering how do they get out of the next box for the first time? do they just hop out like the adults. Or will they drop to the bottonm and if they do , do they get hurt sometimes when they fall? thanks for any info!:budgie: :)

they have been "flying" in the box already, streanthing their wings. mine would hang out of the box, and then climb onto the dowel on the outside, and then to the perch beyond that. if your worried, put a perch outside the box for them to fly to :)

and just so you know, your greys are actually mauve since they have a blue tail. a grey would have a black tail & silver cheek patches. ;)
