does anyone know where to get all natural bird safe rope in canada (preferably ottawa:))
I want to avoid ordering online if possible.

You mean the kind of rope that you find in some bird toys, right? Maybe a craft store. You can usually pick up a lot of little junk for bird toys at a craft store.

you can ususally find hemp rope or cotton rope at craft stores. I believe Michael's carries it.

I couldn't think of the other type of rope besides hemp. Cotton.
You're right about Michael's. They have everything you can think of.

if your wanting rope for perches
you can use dog toys (not used by a dog of course)
I have one in my tiels cage, It was tied in a knot to be a dog tug toy, (just make sure its an actual knot and not pieces glued together )
then I have one on my tree stand that has a tennis ball at the end of it
They both work GREAT for perches and i got both at my local Dollar Tree for a buck :D

you can use dog toys (not used by a dog of course)

Hardware stores generally have unbleached cotton rope in a variety of sizes. I just bought my rope from a Hardware Express (cross between a hardware store and a convenience store) and they had about 6 different gauges of rope, I didn't even buy the largest and it has worked well for Charlie.

k, ill have to check there too, but i heard somewhere that home depot's sisal rope was treated with something :S but i dunno..

I got my rope from Home Hardware. Sisal rope which is safe for birds.
