Designing a Bird Room!

I'm making my room into a bird-safe playroom. I have ideas for 2 med/large table top playgyms and a climbing net on the wall!
Any ideas for making your own bird tree and other interesting things i may have forgotten to add?

Climbing net? Can they get stuck in it, cus that would be just awful!, Uh, lets put it this way, I am re-desiging my room to match my bird. I am doing a victorian bird theme from a designer. Its so fun and elegant I just love it! Lol I know thats not wat you mean by designing a bird room, but the room is totally themed around blue birds same size and shape as twyla its really cool =) She couldn't ask for more =)

thanks! thats alot of really great ideas, the rope crawler thing is what i meant as a climbing net , and im making the table top playgym but i love the rope highways and stuff. Where could i get ceiling protecters?

You should make what will suit you and the bird. Find a comfortable chair which can easily be cleaned from seed, water and droppings. Make or buy some good bird feeders that can easily be cleaned and that the seed won't fall out so bad. The number one thing is that you SHOULD NOT have carpet on the floor which will be hard to clean.
