View Full Version : Forum Trouble, Mess Up!

I don't know if anyone else has been expericing it but lately things have gotten a bit out of control for me. When I'm browing through the forum my avatar is Amy's and everything is a little stretched. I will post picture of it soon.

I tried logging out and logging back in but it was still the same. I went to User CP to check my avatar and it wasn't Amy's there. :o

Yeah it has happened to me too.

I am continuely logged off at random times. Most words are cut out (for ex. If someone wrote "my budgie's cute" it would come out "my 's cute")

and every now and then there's no posts in any of the forums?!

I had followed Dave's advice to someone else that you get to the forum using http://talkbudgies.com instead of http://www.talkbudgies.com

It seemed to have solved a number of problems I was having. The random logoff and not being able to click in a box and get a cursor, ( a get around for that was to click in the box, hit tab and then shift tab.)

Worth a try if you aren't already using the shorter url.

I must say I've never seen that before. :P If it seems to fixing the problems, I'd recommend everyone use the talkbudgies.com domain without the www. at all times. I have no idea why the www. would mess things up like that. I'll look into it.

What web browser is everyone using? I use firefox and have never had a problem.

I use Internet Explorer for my web browser and although I have NEVER had any problems with my Avatar or wording, I am constantly being automatically logged off this site when I'm posting. Just about EVERY TIME I submit a post, (and then see something I need to change) I click on edit and make my changes and then when I click on submit again, the site logs me offf. It drives me crazy!!!!

I have just changed the way I enter this site (by using the shorter web link) and so I will be curious to know if this solves my log out problem. For some reason, this is the only site I EVER get logged off of.

I just downloaded Internet Explorer 7 and it seems I'm not getting any trouble in there with www. and without.

I then went back into firefox and it seems no problem again on www. Strage :confused:

Yep that's true. I didn't notice your recent hamster post in the beginning because everything on here seems to be updated a lot, really quick. :D

I haven't downloaded it yet, have you had any problems with it so far?

No none. It's officially release now I think so it's no longer a BETA copy. :) Same goes for Windows Media Player 11.

It's good. Nice and simple to use. In fact, so good that you can be on about 5 websites at a time, only using 1 window! You just click the tabs under the address to change it. Is so great!

I've started using the http://talkbudgies.com one but I never had any problems with the www.talkbudgies.com (http://www.talkbudgies.com) one.
