Lancelot seems really lonely. Today he isn't singing like he was before when he had Blue to chirp with. I tired talking to him this morning but it seemed like he was ignoring me. I was thinking about getting him a new playmate. He was previously raised with about 15 other budgies-including Blue-before I got him, so maybe he needs another friend. I would like to breed them, so that's why I wanted to get him another girlfriend. Any suggestions? Should I wait? Should I get him a playmate soon?

I'd give him a few days. He might not like a new friend so quick. Give him a couple days. When he seems to be acting a little better then you should consider getting him a mate.

Thank you for your advise. Lancelot wasn't himself at all, but I broke down yesterday and got him a new friend. Her name is Starr. Right now I've got her in her own home-right beside Lancelot's and she keeps showing off to her. As soon as I brought her home, Lancelot sang so much! I think he likes her. He sits on his perch constantly watching her while she tries to get in with him. (At least that's what it looks like to me). I'm going to put her in with Lancelot in a couple days and see what happens. Thanks again!

I'm glad to hear everything seems to be working out between Lancelot and Starr! :D I can't wait to hear what happens when they're in the same cage. Good luck. :)

I got a blue bird we thought was a girl .. it seemed lonely so i got it another friend. they pecked at eachother and yelled at eachother.. turned out they were both boys...so i took one back.. and kept the one i was close to. and got a girl the yellow one and they have been Yelling all day.. it is so annoying.... I dont have another cage to put one in.... till they calm down.. so i called the lady and told her i was tight on money.. I had to save up for them.... she said give them a few days and they will do just fine. they are setting boundries.. she said she has never had another bird kill another.... .. any advise:eek:
