I wanted to introduce my whole 'flock' to everyone! Working at a vet clinic and living on a farm, I've had more animals than should ever be had, but at the moment, we're thinned down a little. My family includes my budgie, my 2 dogs, 2 cats, a horse and of course the hubby :) My extended flock (lol) includes my parents and grandparents animals- a yorkie, 2 poodles, a mini pin mix, 4 elkhounds, another rottweiler, several beagles and foxhounds, 6 miniature donkeys (moms) and 18 other horses. We show horses, so the horses are all assorted- i.e. studs, foals, brood mares, and show horses, and my mom has recently taken into breeding the mini donkeys- hence the number! We also have 2 barn cats and feed every stray that decides to come along! Over the years, I've adopted TONS of animals from the clinic (most of which I've had good luck placing in homes) and of course, taken in every injured species- i.e. deer, skunks, squirrels, rabbits, groundhogs, birds, opossums, etc. In addition, we've had hamsters, sugar gliders, a ferret, and who knows what else! But, like I said, MY flock is thinning down, since we just bought a new house and space here is limited... So here's the crew as of now (don't be surprised if we expand soon!) :)
The pictures follow in the posts below- kinda screwed it up- but here's the captions for them :)
My husband and Layla- our Rottweiler! Such a baby!
Again- such a silly girl! I've always had rottweilers and probably always will... In my opinion, the best dog! Doesn't deserve the bad reputation!
Bentley- our yorkie/bichon mix that was adopted from a breeder that couldn't sell him- Someone sure missed out- he's an angel!!! Here, he's chewing on his candy cane rawhide on mommy's pillows- a no-no since he's already chewed the buttons off one, but he was so cute, I had to get a picture!
Our two adoptee cats- Johnny Cash and June Carter :) hehe They're so rotten! They came into the clinic together with another sibling (grey). The grey got adopted quickly, but no one wanted these two, so I took them- Come to find out- June only has 3 toes on her back feet so she walks on her tip-toes and the grey (found this out when the new owner brought it back into the clinic for a check-up) has 6 toes! lol Kinda funny- Johnny is normal, but both are precious! They walk to the mailbox with me every day!;)
Of course, my budgie, Tito!
My Tennessee Walking Horse, Stormy's Ebony Threat (aka Bubba :) ) Yeah, I know, the show attire I have on is ridiculous- looks better with the jacket- but it was too hot that day! lol
And of course- my hubby and I! :) hehe this was taken the day before our wedding! :)
