:S i got my budgies back in June, and My Cockatiel i already had was kinda of tame, he would sit on my hand but didn't really like to. And the budgies wouldn't even come near me because he would flutter about in the cage. So i was wondering, how could i possibly train them to come onto my hand and trust me to be with me and when i feed them, not to flap around because its unpleasent to see them scared. So can anyone please help...thanks..

Hello scott.shave,

I see that you are new to the Talk Budgies Forum and I wanted to say WELCOME. I hope that you are enjoying yourself as you look around and learn more about Budgies. I too, bought my first two Budgies in June of this year and now I have added two more to my flock. I love them so much. They are fun, fun, fun, fun! (I had to say fun 4 times because I have 4 Budgies.) :D

So how many Budgies do you have and do you keep your Cockatiel in the same cage as your Budgies? There are lots of knowledgeable people on this forum so I hope that they have been a help to you so far. Just know that taming your Budgie doesn't happen overnight, and it will take some time and patience on your part. But as you take things slow and allow your Budgie time to gain his trust in you, you will be amazed at the progress you will make.

Please feel free to ask any questions and we will all try to help in whatever way we can. It won't be long and I'm sure you'll have lots of things that you could add to the forum yourself. We are all learning as we go along, and it's great that we are able to help each other.

Have a great day Scott.

Hey Donna. I have Two Budgies and Yes i keep my cockatiel in the same cage as my Budgies and they have been fine ever since June, not a single fight. They all seem to be best friend but emphisise the word seem, i suppose anything could happen. I'm investing in two new budgies This Friday and i was hopefully have found my digital camera by then and i will show you all my budgies. Oh and not long ago, my "female" budgie Tinka sat on my finger for the first time! She seemed alittle scared and scurried up my arm, and hid underneath it. But shes fine. ...Thanks for you're help and words Ya'lll...
