Hi Guys! I am just taking a poll on how many people here breed their budgies. So take the poll and we can all find out!! :)
I don't, at the moment. But never say never.

I won't be breeding my budgies especially since my little Skyla has had a tumour and she would likely pass on that gene to her babies. :upset:
Perhaps someday when I retire, (which won't be for MANY years), I would like to look into breeding them. For now, I won't be.

I want to breed eventually. but not right now because im still a newbie. :)
From now I am always going to breed my budgies.
I put yes as i have bred budgies in the past and will again in the future but for the moment i'm not. I don't want to overcrowd my aviary and i know that i get too attatched to the babies and can't sell them.

For me, the fun of owning Budgies is breeding them to get the wonderful colour combinations. Plus the fun of hand/finger training all the babies before I even decide which ones I'll keep. The largest flock I've ever had, at one time, was slightly over 300 birds. I have absolutely no problem with parting with the babies that I feel won't improve my stock. Since they are all finger trained before I decide to part with them, I have no problem finding good homes for them. They are always given lots of love and attention at all points. I always have a waiting list for my babies but will not release to anyone I don't feel will make a good parent.
I'm only going to keep 1 baby! I'm going to hand/finger tame them all!

So, do you breed budgies??
No she doesn't, she's just got 2 budgies called Pickle and Blueberry! Nice names.
But she might do when they're older. Maybe, I don't know.

Not planning on breeding but if nature takes it's course I wont stop it.
Yes, I never meant to but they mated one day and I thought: Oh I want to breed them!

as i have a male & female when there older i will put in a nestbox & let nature take its course ,the only problem being if they mate what babies to keep, that must be so hard .
Yes it must, I'll end up keeping them all!
Hmm....just thought i'd point out that "my budgies mated so i gave them a nest box" isn't a very good reason to start breeding. In reality there's little need for so many backyard breeders, there are hundreds of homeless budgies in pet stores or bird rescues that are in need of loving homes.
Are you talking to me? Well ever since I had my first budgies I wanted to breed and so they mated one day, on there 1st birthday(!) and I started breeding!
