I won't buy it cos I don't think it's NOT safe enough for all birds as they can chew it and swallow it:S

If your gut instinct questions the safety of some bird toys, then follow it and don't buy it. I have seen that around in the past but with wood instead, that would be the one that I would buy instead. Good question.:D

I'd say its the same thing. Who is selling this at the fairs, just homemade vendors? If thats the case, i'd keep away from it. I try to judge what i buy from the materails sold at the bird shops.... they are almost always the safest products.

My instinct seems to be the same as everyone else...I have seen these as home-made toys from vendors at the bird fairs and I have wondered if it was safe and I have not yet bought one cuz I didn't think it was. Next time I might ask what it is so I know if it is just that craft foam or if it is something else...
Thanx!

Do you have an all bird store near you (not petco type) maybe print out the pic and ask them at the store (if they supply a bunch of toys, i'm sure they'd have had some experience with it, worth a try at least)

looks like childrens foam to make pictures with
Just saw a big container of it at big lots yesterday in the toy section for 5 bucks
Supposedly its safe
I've seen many pet stores sell toys with it on there and with Rubber type toys
Roxy and Pugsley have the green one (used to be Bonnie and Clydes)
http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2751739
they even have bird toys made out of Rawhide (like dogs play with)
http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2750777
This one the Stick thing (raw hide) Roxy has the same thing she has that color, white and ones that are twisted with red cinnamon in the center white outside, and one that the center piece is green outer is white, and she has just white ones) looks just like the stick in the picture

I'm not sure when I got Bonnie and Clyde there was nothing on the bottom lol
but i think it might be the same rubber stuff its made out of though
the description isn't very good but i think just from feeling the one i have it is rubber foam
and I know i've seen them sold some one on a bird site to make toys, and toys made with childs foam shapes
I'll have to search again for it, I can't remember where i found it at
