I know this is a stupid question but with all of the birds that I have had... I have never seen one that sleeps upside down. Is that safe? LOL Mali has been sleeping totally upside down hanging from the top of the cage.

I got one. LOL It wouldn't have bothered me so much if he didn't act so strange when I woke him. Just totally out of it... I suppose it could have been because I woke him up LOL I am just a paranoid mom. First day out of quarantine and he's hanging from the roof *sigh* I knew my other birds were tough, but gee.

Perhaps his dream is to be a bat? He was born into the wrong body? Lol.

haha maybe. I think tomorrow I will go get a rope instead of that swing... maybe if he can fit on the rope beside his buddy (who sleeps on that swing) I wont have a batbird. LOL When I woke him he just looked at me like "wha?" Sorta made me nervous... I have seen my budgies do some pretty odd things but... sleeping upside down?! LOL

Banjo likes to sleep with his head curled over, and I always wake him and tell him no, because i am scared something is wrong.. but is it normal?? I have four birds, and only three swings but most of the time my eldest two share a swing so Banjo gets one to sleep on, but other nights his to slow and misses out, bit shy... so is this normal behavious?

This weekend I went and bought a few little perches to put towards the top of the cage. Since, he hasn't done it. :D Maybe there just wasn't enough room on the swing...

Thats what I was just about to ask.
"Is there enough ledges?"
Its probally isn't that he is unconfertable, but trying alternatives :)

Could you maybe get a better picture? The other one was ....yeah/

Well there were quite a few perches but none up at the very top. I bought a few more and re-organized them so that there were two perches up somewhat high so that he wouldn't feel like he had to sleep upside down if they kicked him off the swing again. I took him out of the cage immediately after that picture and returned him back to the quarantine cage (It was his first whole night out of quarantine and in the new cage). Bought the perches (and disposed of a couple of older ones) the next day. The swing is just mystics domain. She shares with the rest... to an extent... and he tried to sleep on her "throne". LOL

Ruby made me laugh. He never did this before so that's why I mention it. He was walking upside down on the ceiling of the cage and then just hanging there like a bat, head dropped down and everything. Then he'd walk some more and hang, drop his head. Either he was really enjoying himself upside down, or he was trying to make me laugh because it was so funny.
