Well you guys all know i have three birds now and my friend gave me his two giurl and boy budgies. Well they were all getting along when the girl goes into her cage. She makes her way tpo the top of the cage and starts to peck and my bird kiwis foot. I stop her fomr this and kiwi wasnt hurt. They usaully got along well. When i came home from school i saw blood all over the bars and kiwi standing there with a bleeding foot and the girl pecking at it . My poor birds foot. Kiwi was standing on top of her cage and now im making sure both cages are locked before i leave in the morning. Is this normal for a girl to peck at a different guy budgie when hes on her cage?

That is sad about Kiwi's foot. :( I hope he didn't lose too much blood. I have a female budgie who will go after the feet of any bird standing on top of any cage if she is in it. She got in a few chomps, enough to hurt but no blood drawn. After a couple of those, they all learned to watch out and get out of the way if they are on top and she is below.

This wouldn't concern me all that much except there was blood drawn. You need to have your budgie looked at by an avian vet. Most likely they will prescribe some antibiotics to prevent an infection from developing at the site of the wound. If left untreated, there is the possibility that the infection could become systemic (i.e. throughout the entire blood stream).

You may need to cover the top of the cage as you don't want something like this to keep happening...not to mention what it does to your budgie's confidence within the flock to be pecked at like that.
