Some of you might know that my ferret, Niele, recently passed away due to old age. Well just the other day, we've finally decided to fill the empty gap in the house with a brand new ferret!
It wasn't planned, we just went to the pet store to get some cat food and flea soap, and we saw this darling little ferret waddling around the pen. And after debating amongst ourselves, our whole family agreed that it'd be best to get a ferret before the Holidays. The Holidays was a special time for us with Niele, so if we didn't do something, we'd end up depressed the whole way through.
Meet Revi!

Dad opposed bringing her home at first, but after holding her for like two minutes, his face changed like: :(:S:rolleyes::D
It was pretty funny. XD
She's so energetic. It's really nice hearing her scurry all over the place. It's almost like the old days!
Now just to survive her puppy stage...

how cute - does she like to hide in shoes?
my cousin had one and always hid in shoes, and Since i wasn't around often (maybe every other weekend) I'd forget and go slip my shoes back on only to find one wouldn't go on and it was furry inside and a couple times I got bit LOL
and his loved to try to pierce our ears - I kept telling her I had enough holes( i have 11) If i wanted more I could do it all on my own, thats how i got so many to start with :P
I got to say I don't normally like any "rat/mouse" like creature But I do like ferrets but I can't have any my mom would never come see me and she doesn't get to come see me enough as it is
she's petrified of them

Thanks! And right now she only has a temporary "cage", so it's not much to look at... At all. XD

Yes... It's a tub. No, she's not staying in there forever. XD And the majority of her time is spent playing in my room. :p She only uses that to sleep and eat.
Eventually she'll graduate to staying and sleeping in my bedroom, then laaater she'll have free run of the house. :p

Haha, sounds like she was trying to take over your shoe! We don't know if Revi likes them, she hasn't seen gotten to any shoes yet. We'll see. ;)
The ear piercing sounds.. Painful.
Aww! That sucks. How could she be petrified of something so adorable?
Edit: Not as easy as you might think. Sand goes everywhere and I have to vacuum, scrub the whole thing down with soap and water, and it's just a big hassle sometimes. But I guess it helps that the faucet is right there. ;)

Revi is beautiful! I was strongly debating getting a ferret, but then I realized that they're illegal in California :(
Have fun with Revi over the holidays! :D
Keep us posted with how her 'puppy-stage' goes :)

To my mom its nothing but a long rat
My dad was asleep in my grandparents back bedroom one day and my mom came home from work saw his truck and stopped in, They said he was in the back sleepign she went to wake him up Rosco (my cousins ferret) was sleeping under the bed and she didn't know it (we thought my cousin took it home with him), he crawled out and over her feet she come running out of the back of the house through the kitchen and out the door screaming Bloody murder screaming Theres a rat in the house
my grandma was Laughing so hard (she had throat cancer and couldn't talk - had a hole in her throat ) but she about fell out of her chair
and once my mom calmed down and realized it was Rosco
she came back in about 5 mins later we're still laughing our butts off, and my grams says "well Karen you surprised me I never knew a West Virginian could get their knees up so high"
my mom is origionally from west virgina and we pick on her every chance we get

Alexandra - Awww! That sucks! :( A few of my friends know people who have Ferrets in Cali. I guess some people can't resist smuggling. :p
Atvchick - LMAO. That sounds hilarious! It's funny how Ferrets are referred to as Rats and Rodents -- We do it too sometimes when she's misbehaving. Even though they're from completely different families.
(And they'd probably eat a mouse/rat, given the chance. :p)

Hahaha... I wonder how they got them in? Who knows... :)
But for now, I'll have to stick with budgies :XD:

I actually found a guide once on how to smuggle ferrets into California once and what to do when you're caught with them. XD They probably bought them out of state and drove 'em in or something.

I still laugh about her and Rosco to this day - she still doesn't see the humor in it :P it was defiantly not one of those "oh you'll laugh about this later" situations
I think it's because of their looks - they do sort of resemble a rodent/mouse/rat ONLY way cuter !

Robin's Nest - Thank you! And Haha, it's actually not that comfortable looking in real life. ;) She was going through it for stuff to steal! The can of flowers you see in that picture is now hidden somewhere. :p
Rainbow - Thank you. She left a lot of pleasant memories with us. :)
Atvchick - Maybe it is, just she hasn't reached the point where it's funny yet. :p And I guess they do, maybe it's the pointy face and the tail...
My mom once shaved Niele's tail to see how it'd look. XD My dad HATED it. I think that's what made us call her a rat for good.
