hey there, 2 of my budgies have recentely started to mate. :D Because they are in an aviary i was woundering would it be ok if i took them out and put them 2 in a breeding cabinet? I was also wondering if the hen has already layed eggs could i move the eggs to a nest box in a breeding cabinet as well as the parents? Or then again would they still breed in the aviary. The hen has not been into the nest box yet. :S :S

Thanks. :D

I'm not an expert with breeding, but my guess would be that you could put the two budgies in a breeding cage if you like. I'm really not sure about your other question with moving the budgie eggs though.

Do you have a nest box in the aviary? If yes and the hen has laid the eggs there make sure you move that nest box into the breeding cage. It pay to place the hen in the nest box so she becomes a costomed to it.

I do have nest boxes in the aviary but none of the hens go in there not even the hen that has been wanting to mate. If i took out the mating 2 and put them in an breeding cabinet would they then be interested in the nest box?

Yes they could. There are no guarentees that they would though. I breed all my pairs in breeding cages.
