My newest flock memeber is Babe Rooth!

My friend's friend had a bird this Cockateil....It was so sad when I went to go pick it up. The father of the girl was giving him away because the girl wasn't taking care of him.The cages were filghty I had to take a scrub brush and use ANTIBACTERAIL SOAP on the whole enire cage the droppings were crusty and there were heaps and heaps of it all over the side and cage bars. Very old. The cockateil is in bad health it has been eating pigeon seed for 6 YEARS I couldnt believe it when they told me. The bird is 6 years old. They have had it for 6 years and they said tehy never heard of feeding a bird vegetables or fruit. Never gave him vitamins. He was starving when he came here he ate fruit and sweet patatoe right off the bat. 5 minutes into the new clean cage

Some facts about him to make thsi LOOOOONG story short ask questions if you want:
He is 6 years old
Male lutino
Bites but likes people if not touched
Wistles "Take me out to the ball game"
He loves natural Perches
He likes fruit and vegetables, I guess when you never had them before
Very active

He is a small and skinny bird right now, but I have him on a good diet not PIGEON FEED! and he is eating very well I force fed him vitamins to make sure he swallowed the drops he is very active and soon I think he will be a healthier cockateil. He is healthy just on a very poor deit for 6 years I don't know how he survived on corn....piegeon feed is mostly corn Its awsome when he sings "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" he whitsles it. His name was "Daisy" he was a guy sooo that was just a bit weird I named him Rooth after "Babe Rooth" a really good basball player I thought it was better than Daisy and since he is a basball type a teil I thought he would like that name

Here are a few photos:

Considering the history, he looks better than would be expected. Lucky bird, I am glad you have him.

Yeah he looks great for what he has been through...he is at least on a healthy deit and in better conditions.

He's lucky you came to the rescue! His old owners should have considered what they were getting into when they bought such a needy species of bird. I couldn't see the picture either, but I have 60 70 vision (compared to 20 20) so I don't have very good eyes!

Maybe later?
