Titch my Giant African Land Snail is doing well. He is still only a baby and is deffinitley not giant yet. In the pictures he is with a devoured cucumber that he ate in under 5 minutes.

Oh my! I would have no clue about how to look after one of those! :eek: Sounds like he is thriving nicely!

Wow! I've never even heard of anything more than sea and garden snails :o

He sure is a hungry little fella :)

I really like the shape of the shell, reminds me of a huge seashell I have in the hallway :D

He's cute! I love snails! They have a lot more personality than most people realize!

I had a Black Mystery snail in my Betta tank for awhile. He was almost the size of a golf ball. He used to do really strange acrobatics and play with the bubbles coming from the air stone. :) I have a picture of him reaching out to touch the bubbles. Very cute.

Took me a while to find it but here it is. He would always reach out a tentacle? and play with the bubbles. He lived in a ten gallon tank with my Betta and the Betta just loved him. They were buddies and slept next to each other. :)

I love him! Now I want a snail!! :)

How do you look after him (what are his requirements?)

We just got a beautiful canary yesterday though... (an amazing singer) so had better wait to add to the family!

They can grow bigger than an adults hand. All they really need is soil, a small tank( doesnt need to be big) and cucumber and lettuce to eat. They sometimes like to eat tomatoes but neither of my African snails did. They thrive on the smallest amount of attention. They are really cheap to look after and buy. Titch cost just £1.80 and I got my old departed snail Sim for free.

Wow I had no idea they were such big eaters! Titch is looking good and he has grown a bit since his last pics.:)

That has got to be one of the most interesting pets on TB! :D

I also did not know they could eat so much... just wait till he gets bigger!

Yeah! My old snail Sim was as big as my hand and he didnt eat as much as Titch now. lol.
