new cuttle bone

i just bought a cuttle bone with a mineral block around it is this a good thing to have and how long will it take for my birds to get use to it

yes its a good thing to have. have your birds had a cuttlebone before? if yes, it shouldnt take them long at all to use it. if not, it may take a little longer. in the aviary, i go thru about 1 a month

if they have had a cb before, then it wont take them long to get used to it. mine always nibble from the same spot, so they would get thru the mb quickly

I use that kind as well. Sometimes they barely touch it and then they will all decide that they can't get enough of it. But I usually find that the cuttlebone part has gone before the mineral part.

I use that kind too - my budgies will chew from both bits even when the mineral block is still around it.

Ya i put cuddle bone in the cage and the female had never had it before and its been about 4 days and its almost gone:eek:
