two different types of Texas?...
is one a 'super green'?
or are they just a blue and a green...?
cant really tell from the photos...
nice fish though, and a good load of eggs by the looks of it, congrats!

Beautiful fish. How long does it take for the eggs to hatch? Hope you're able to share pics of all the little babies.:D

I am confused when you say they aren't from Texas because just researching the fish to see about the different types it says that they are from Rio Grande drainage.:S Do you mean you didn't get them from Texas?

The one with the larger brighter blue spots is a Carpintis 'Escondido' (female) and the other is a Cyanoguttatum (male)
Thanks for the comments :)

The eggs should hatch within a few days to a week.
Yes from the Rio Grande drainage, but the female is originated a little farther south into Mexico. Sorry for the confusion :(
I will definitely share pics of the babies.

Okay. Not a problem I was just wondering. I like fish so when I see a species I've never looked up I always have to go and read up about them a bit.

Do you have any fish? And if so what kind?

I do. I have 2 10 gallon tanks set up. I'll admit I'm not the best fish keeper since I have the habit of overcrowding my tanks.:o I'd love to get a bigger tank but since we're renting(been in the same place for 3 years now) my husband won't let me get a bigger tank. But i have 1 tank with 1 Pleco, 1 Panda Cory cat, 1 snail, and some dwarf sunset Plattys. And then the other tank which is more my kids has 1 Pleco, 1 Peppered Cory Cat, 1 neon tetra, 1 African Dwarf Frog, 1 Black Kuhli loach, 1 neon tetra, 2 Danios, and a male and female betta.
As I said I kinda over stock my tanks without thinking about it.:o

Wow. You have some pretty cool fish. Would love to see pictures of the rest.:D I'd love to have a nice big tank with cichlids one day.
I just always grew up with fish and well I guess you could say I'm just doing what I was raised to with the over populating of tanks.:o However I want to stop now so my kids don't learn that nasty habit as well.

Unfortunately the parents decided to eat their eggs :crying2: That is a common occurrence though. Maybe next time? I will show pics if they breed again and the babies make it to swimming stage.

I've seen pics of your goldfish, they certainly look very happy in their tank! 8 years can be a long time for fish to survive. They must be very well taken care of :)
