my hen is acting strange sheis showing signs
a. she ate all her cuttle bone in 15 hours
b.she was inspecting the nest box yesturday
c.her poop was huge and soft abit light green
d.her wings was on her side all day
e.she started showing these signs today other than the cuttle bone yesturay
She sounds like she is ready to lay very soon....the cuttle Bone sounds a bit strange, what do you guys think?:S
I don't think that she actually ate the cuttle bone- just shredded it. A lot of hens do that.

i watched herchew it she might havechewed soe of it and shredded the rest

ya i would say shes definitly pregent and ready to lay eggs soon.

today i saw her on the perch connected to the nest box trembling i was scared thinking she is goin to die but i do not know what to do now she is in the nest box and is just sitting there i thought she laid an egg but when she moved to poo no there wasn't none oh what to do now

just be patient after theyve mated about 2 weeks from ther they start laying eggs also just leaver her alone and dont check on her as much she be under stress.

She sounds like she will lay in the next couple of days.
There should be a swelling of the lower abdomon as the egg moves into the correct position for laying.
How long has the pair been together with the nest box?
