To me it looks really small hunni, I like to have lots of room for them so they can spread their wings and fly a bit without crashing into the sides etc, also you have to have space after you have put your toys in the cage. Sorry for sounding negative its just my cage what i have 2 budgies in is for a cocatiel, its really spacious, the one that is on the site that you like is similar to mine that has Skyla in..so to me it looks big enough for one budgie. it may be bigger then what it looks but I dont think it will be big enough xx

Please don't buy it, it's too small for even one budgie. The minimum size for one budgie is 18"x18"x18" (or about that). Try to find something larger, this is my cage which is PERFECT for two:

They're not expensive either and fairly easily available. Check eBay.

Bea how about this one 18" x 14" x 35"H

That's not much better. Budgies (all birds in fact) aren't helicopters, they don't fly upwards. It's pointless getting a cage that high as the bottom half (or more) wont even get used. Try to find a cage that is wider than it is tall.

Here, i'm looking on the site you found the original cage on. This one is the size of Blinkie and Ozzie's old cage and i would say it would *just* do if they get a few hours flying time out of the cage everyday.

If not then something the size of my cage or larger is a must, budgies need tons of space to move and fly around.

*edit* Here's a site that has the same cage that i have for $45 with free shipping.

Scroll down to the 2470 Breeding, the dimensions are 18"h x 18"d x 30"w :)

I would still say it's small, have a look at the second link i gave you, it's got very large cages for very low prices. May i ask what are the dimensions of the cage they're in now?

Make sure that she knows the minimum cage size. I know the smaller ones may be visually appealling and cheap but you're main priority should be your budgies happiness. For them a plain square/rectangular cage that's longer than it is high will be best. There's no point "saving money" by buying a cheap little cage only to have to buy another proper sized one later on because you discover that the cute little one really is no good.

Agree with you Bea, I like them to be happy and have loads of room, its not fair if they aint going to be happy and I think its cruel to have a small cage xx

I would then you can look yourself and imaging them both in it with the toys etc, look for a large cocatiel cage that will be perfect as i have noticed in the pet stores in the uk the budgie cages aint very big at all but the cocatiel ones are xxx

But be sure that if you go for a tiel sized one the bar spacing is still 1/2", most are 5/8" which is way too big and your budgies could get their head caught.
