my birds take a TWIST

I have 5 birds. Tweety Bird (boy)? whos partner was Sky (girl) and Rainbow (boy) whos partner is Teal (girl). Marty well (boy)?? Just now saw a light tint of a girl (brown cere)? Who dose not have a love one. The twist is Tweety bird was having bird mating (sex) with rainbow and Tweety bird getting into deadly like fights with Teal that used to be with rainbow and Sky getting into fights with Rainbow. She use to be with Tweety Bird.:eek: They all just switched around and now my birds are NUTS! I had to break up a bloody fight between Teal and Tweety bird (which I guess is now a girl after watching him/her with rainbow today. I guess there are alot of jealousy between mates that are know longer mates. Its like watching a sope. Unless birds just hang on top of other birds backs and preen each ohter at the same time while that male is always on top??????????? I dont know anymore. You tell me!

IF I were you I would seperate all the mates, because the females will kill the other females eggs and possibly each other. We had to do this after an expert came in and told us what was happening with our birds :( It's a dominace thing and they do it in the wild, so unless you want to deal with dead birds I would advise you to seperate them, believe me its not good to come home and find your bird dead and the other with blood all over them.

ouch..yeah you might wanna go along wit the seperating idea, and take em to the vet they might of gotten into sottin' serious while you were gone. good luck!!:eek:

Hey Shannon,

On the "Lighter Side" of life, your Budgies sound like today's teenagers!!!!! :D

I have two teenage Sons and I try not to get too worked up when I hear a new girl's name every week or so, ha! Kids are just OUT THERE and trying to establish an identity and it sounds like your Budgies are confused about who they are, also.

You're right, it does sound like a SOAP OPERA . . . :laughing:

But please, DO be careful and take precautions so that nothing deadly happens.

LOL...I have a soap opera with my 6 budgies. Ernie bonded with two females. Drummer is now interested in one of them and Ernie keeps chasing him away.. The other two males are too new to create a more chaos! Oh yeah....Bert's a female!
