Well it sure took them days but today my aunt called me saying how someone who lives on the same street found a tortoise and it's been staying at his house. He brought her over and sure enough it was my Kuka :D:D
My aunt said Kuka made this low noise and had watery eyes when she saw them.. I didn't even know tortoises cried O.O
I'm so happy they found her!! My aunt said tomorrow night she'll go on msn and show my Kuka through the webcam so i can see her :D and she'll take lots of pictures so i'll post them all here tomorrow :D

Its so nice to finally hear a happy ending to a story about an animal going missing. :D
Speaking of that, did anyone else hear about that case in England where a couple was reunited with their lost cat after EIGHT years? They were so thrilled to get her back, and the cat looks happy to be home too.

Just goes to show the value of microchipping, as that was how the cat was identified after it was found wandering a couple of kilometers from its old home. No one knows where it spent those eight years, whether it was living outside all the time, or whether it had found another home. Whatever, it is now back with the people it spent its first seven years with, and has apparently settled in beautifully, in spite of now having to share with three other cats. :)

Oh My Gosh! Brazillianangel, you are SO LUCKY! :D
You and I have both been to brazil and know what its like. Corruption, violence, theft, robberies and MILLIONS of people! For your tortoise to slowly make its way past everyone down the street without being abused, killed or stolen, then picked up by a neighbour and then RETURNED  That is like IMPOSSIBLE!
WOW, I'd buy a lottery ticket if I were you!

That's great! its a good thing the neighbor was taking care of her, who knows what would've happened to her if he hadn't been.

She's so cute. I love tortoises.:D Just wondering is there any way you could bring her back with you when you go to visit?

Awww thanks :)
there isn't a way for me to bring her back :( because i won't have any place to put her in :( there she stays in the big backyard and there's food & water in all 4 corners and a part of shade and sun and here it snows so she won't be able to stay outside :( plus my family keeps their car in the garage :( so she won't be able to stay there either :(

Oh I'm so happy for you. :happy4: Are you sure there's no possible way for you to bring her back and keep her? Would you consider keeping her in a large aquarium when you're not home and then let her come out when you are?
I never thought of this, but if you could, are you even allowed to bring her into Canada?

i asked my mom and she said no way :(
plus i think putting her in an aquarium would be cruel since she's lived her whole life roaming freely... My aunt said they are going to be making a tiny fence so even if the door is opened Kuka won't be able to go out of it. I'm not even sure if i'm allowed to bring tortoises here :S
i made a new thread with her pictures :)

I didn't think you'd go for the aquarium idea. Especially when she's used to walking around free. But the little fence sound like a great solution.

On another forum I'm a member of, there is a lady who has a tortoise(sorry I don't know the specific kind) and it is pretty much free range when she is home. She even takes it to school with her every day, she is a teacher. She is able to let it soak two times a day so it can use the bathroom, then the rest of the day it can stay out. I don't know what kind yours is but I thought that may be some help with getting yours to live with you.
Anyhoo, I'm so glad Kuka was saved and is safe from harm. What a happy ending.:party2:
