My 6 months old male :budgie: is in perfect shape and very healthy, he flies all over the house and eats budgie seed all day (trill) but every night he sits up on his swing and stays there till morning. he must poop around hundred times as this great pile of runny green poop is at the bottom of the cage. he drinks lots of water throughout the day! also he is caged with another budgie (female) and she is perfectly fine. they both are really healthy and fast flyers as i let them out three times aday! i have not given them any greens for months. and i did add a little tonic to the water a while ago and no success. they are both on trill now and fresh water daily. what can i do to stop my budgie from this Diarrhoea.
please advise .
many thanks
john

I would remove the other budgie, and get your male to an avain vet. He doesn't sound well, although, it could be stress.

Please keep us updated on him!

My new budgie has the same thing and is perfectly fine, in my case its because shes just left her mother and is a little bit overwhelmed...first the box and travel home then a new cage etc its a lot for a budgie to get used too, with your budgie been 6 mths though maybe you should seek a vets diagnosis xx

Amy is right it maybe stress, I think my Bobby did the same when I put Benny in with him. Mind he stopped after two days and haven't done it since.

i really dont think its stress as its happy chirping all day and most the night, he plays with gracie my female bugie and they preen each other he looks like the happiest budgie alive, sometimes i laugh ! when i see them kissing, they look like 2 kissing gouramis.
i will give it another week then i will ask a avian vet .
thanks

HI. When I first got Cymbal, she had running green poop as well. I checked this forum as to why. I found out that either she was sick or hunger. It turned out that she was hungry. Perhaps your budgie is not really eating as you thought he is. I don't know what trill is. Maybe trying a different type of food might help. Cymbal was better after a week of indulging herself with food. Good luck.

thanks i will look into changing its food. i do know that he is eating as he makes that much mess each day ! and i can not see any seeds on the bottom of the cage but only husks.
