Skye is beinga good mommy so far...lol...It's only been a few hours but she hasn't really left the egg alone...Shes been sitting on it non stop...is this usual for a first time mom?

Thanks everyone! wow I'm excited! I peeked in at Skye afterschool today and her vent was like...pulsing almost it was weird...lol...Another egg do you think?

PS: What would you guys recommend to mark the eggs? I was going to put 1,2,3, etc on them but I wasn't sure whether or not to use pencil crayons, markers, pencil...crayon...
I'd like to mark them before she lays a second one.

Yeah I'm VERY impressed the way my budgies took to these nests...I bought two so Skye could choose the one she wanted and she chose the one that was lower...I will definitely keep you guys posted...egg #2 should be here tomorrow! :D They mated again twice today...that i saw anyway...lol

Alrighty!!! egg #3 is here! I looked in the nestbox and she must've just laid because it was still wet :) I also candled the 1st egg, and there's little red lines inside it!!!! :) fertile! YAY!

Thanks Joey! :D I cant wait to see the colours coming in on the chicks...too cute! ^o^ . I'm not going to be back until Sunday...going to Victoria to visit family and go to a budgie auction! EEEEEEEEEEE!!!! lol...Unfortunately my dad said no more birds....:( That's no fair! It's like hanging a french fry in front of a mcdonalds addict....a good thing is so close but you just can't have it...lol anyway So I'll post newer pics, hopefully, when I get back :)

In the two photos that were just posted the iris rings aren't fully developed and the bars on the head are still pretty far forward which seems like they've only been through one moult. The iris ring (or lack of) worries me, this would put them under one year. Budgie Lover - if i'm wrong about this i'm sorry, i only have the birds best interest in mind.

40.00 for trained and 20.00 for not tame...Thats my price Im not generous they pay or they don't simple :P...make sure theya re going to good homes though:(I gave a care sheet and a small bag of food with the baby....I made teh care sheet I don't have it anymore.You could possibly do that?Put your phone number on it or email so they could ask you questions and say you will take teh bird back if anything occurs where tehy don't want it.

Wow! I could get 120.00 for all three of them :eek: But I think I'm gunna fall in love with them to sell them...I'm actually kind of relieved its turning out to be three....They can stay in the big cage with their parents and another female and I can keep my tame girl to myself in her original cage. I bought her a flightsuit like last sunday so it should be here anytime...i'll take her places with me =) Yeah I'll make up a care sheet and stuff if I decide to sell like two of them or something...Wonder what genders they'll be....How old will they have to be to tell what sex they are?

Trust me I said the same thing to...I had 2 than 5 than more and more:P and I kept all of them. Every time I said ok I have to sell them I just kept them:DSoon I had 15 and than it was hard to keep up. I than started selling them and kept 8 and no more babies. Its really hard to let them go especially if you see your birds raise them and work so hard than teh family is separated :( its sad lol it was very hard for me to sell the babies. You will keep this first clutch watch especially if you handle them every day.:D Good luck though...yes 120.00 its good money but i didnt spend it on me the way I look at it the birds made thier money so tehy get the money I bought them all kinds of stuff lol:PI had 10 cages HAHA

You should make a small avairy:P and maybe buy a few more budgies...through this breeding you will just start of, and soon you will get more and more experince.Build a small avairy buy a few young budgies that aren't related and let them breed with your babies when they become of age.Its a really fun experience!

Betta splendis as there scientific name is ;P lol tehy are a small type of lybrinth fish meaning they need no air and they breath from the top of the water they are flat and are very beautiful. Males can not be housed togetr or with females tehyw ill kill each other. It is illegal in Japan to fight them and tehy orginated in Thialand they live in shallows puddles.The birds pick up thier eggs and move from puddle to puddle when the birds bathe...very intresting fish look it up on google. (BEA) has a very beautiful one.

oh! those ive seen tose they have them in like little container at petshops and stuff right and they look kinda cool... my freind got one and it died ina week..fish scare me so i never really got a good look at it.... specially those kind of fish. Ya we just call em fighter fish or siamese fighting fish over here.

I have 3 bettas...They are what I used to breed...I only have 3 now...1 of them has a name but the other two don't...I've got two females and 1 male living together...The male is a red crowntail and the females are both ones i bred myself...They're both delta tails...Anyway back to bird talk :P
