Well this morning was certainly interesting!!

I thought I heard a chirping noise from the nestbox and there were still eggs!

On closer inspection one of the eggs was chirping ...

2 hours later there we go! Our first baby.

For those of you who read my last thread in "Budgie Breeding" Pepita ended up with 5 eggs, all fertile too!

Bessie ended up with 6 eggs, none were fertile, so I transferred one fertile over to her so she wouldnt miss out.

I'd love to post some pictures but I'm giving them peace and quiet to get acquainted with each other.

Pepe also frequents the nestbox and has met his new offspring :)

Now it's a guess who the new baby will look like!!

I'm soooo excited as this is my first time breeding and being clucky myself it's even worse lol :)

YAY! CONGRATS to you and Pepe and Pepita!! This is soooo exciting! I thought that was a great idea, transferring a fertile egg over to Bessie....that is so sweet!
This is my first time breeding too! Celeste just laid her 2nd egg, all is well so far. I just started a thread in the breeding journals. So congrats again, keep us posted and pics soon, ok?

Congratualations!!! How cute to have a chirping egg :) That was a really good idea to give your other bird a fertile egg. Lila had a clutch of 6 that never hatched, she did a lot of work for nothing. I know I am thinking like a human:p Looking forward to pictures!

That baby is gorgeous! :D Congratulations! I can't imagine how proud you must be.

So how are the parents coping so far? Are they good budgie parents? :)

They are wonderful parents, the babies are fed regularly and there have been no deaths so far.

The only sad situation is I gave one of the fertile eggs to another budgie couple and it ended up Dead in Shell. The mother is a bit neurotic.

Anyhow, here is the new pic. The big hatchling is nearly 3 weeks old and will probably look exactly like his dad:)

I am very very proud hehehe. :)

Awww...they are so cute :D! I am patiently waiting for Violet's chick to finally open his eyes and show me who he really is lol!

Hope all goes well and I'm sure all of the chicks will grow up to be beautiful ;). :cool:.
