Ozzie's First Shower

Haha! I love wet baby budgies! :D Little Oz had his very first shower just now and he got SOAKING wet! Now he's wrapped up in a little towel and poked down the front of my top. He and Blinkie are tweeting LOUDLY at each other.

I know you are just worried; I completely understand. It is never easy to have a budgie who you think may be sick, especially since they are so fragile.

Just make sure you are posting in the appropriate topic area; everyone, including you, will appreciate it since then we'll all know where to find the posts about certain topics. :p Does that sound like a good plan to you? :S

Ozzie is such a clown!!!! :clown: Let me just say that those are EXCELLENT photos of your wet little Budgie. And I thought my Budgie looked funny after a bath. Well, I think yours probably "beats" them all. :D

I am so amazed that you are able to take Ozzie to the shower. Most people's posts say that they can't even get their Budgies to take a bath. You are blessed to have so much fun by taking your Ozzie into the shower. He just cracks me up. And then to wrap him and let him snuggle against your chest is just so adorable. I would give anything to have one of my Budgies snuggle like that.

Did you work with Ozzie a lot to get him to trust you that much? Or did he just train easily? How are your other Budgies when it comes to taking a bath? I just wondered if you have to work with Ozzie everyday for him to stay tame like that or has he stayed tame on his own, even amongst your other Budgies? I need encouragement and tips on what worked for you! :D

Hi Donna! I'm glad you liked the photos. Me and Ozzie have been bonding since day one, within a week he was glad to come out and play with me. He is only with one other budgie, Blinkie, as they are my tame budgies that live indoors. I have another 20 who live outside and aren't so tame. I didn't really have to work with him much to get him to like showers. Now when i take him into the shower with me and Blinkie he mostly sits up on the shower rod and sings but if the mood hits him he'll fly down to my finger and splash around under the water. :)
