Introducing...

You requested it. So we've added it. We have a new style here! It's not the default style, but it is now available for anyone to use.

Probably one of the most requested changes to our website was a darker style. Well, you now have the option of viewing TB in a dark style. It's a new style, not just the current one darkened. It's still dark though nonetheless. So those of you who have trouble with light screens or who just like dark stuff, you now have the option to go dark!

To change to the dark style, go to your Edit Options page (http://talkbudgies.com/profile.php?do=editoptions) and scroll down toward the bottom. In the misc options box you'll see a forum skin drop down menu. It'll most likely say Use Forum Default. Just choose Talk Budgies Dark.

When the page reloads, everything will be dark. :P

I hope everyone (or whoever uses it) enjoys this new style.

It works! It looks great....takes a bit of getting used to, the typed text appears in white on black:)

I've never been a fan of the dark forum colors, so i'll stick to the steel version LOL It does look nice for those that like the dark themes though, so good job dave!

Yeah I've never been a black website fan either (except my website is black - lol....or wait...maybe it isn't...) It's unnerving. I'll stick to my TB Version one. But first I'll post this to see how I look when I post in black.

The link colors are the same as the default style (blue). I guess the black makes them look different though.

yeah they kinda look Periwinkle which i think is a bluish purply color :d

or at least when my kids watched Blue's Clues her little buddy Periwinkle was a blueish purple color lol

Thank you for this, white backgrounds are too much for my eyes sometimes and since I have eye floaters, it kind of annoys me so this darker background is great for that. Thank you again for adding it, I like it a lot.

I went Talk Budgies dark for about two minutes.:P It really bothered my eyes and I'm more of a light to medium person anyway. Don't really care for it, but its great to have that option for those who do.:) I can't wait to see what the teaser is all about.:)

It's nice. :) But i'm neither not a fan of it. Changed it in less thanm 2 mintutes. :D This one is more easy on the eyes. :D

I really like the new dark, but I am sticking with steel. The dark is not as hard on my eyes but my brain is use to dark words. That may change when I get a new computer. It looks really good.

The plain style is just the default style for the software. It has been there for a while now. I never made an announcement because I didn't really plan to make it public. It was going to be used for testing, but I never turned it off for members. :P So now you can use it.

Also, there really aren't any plans to add more styles. That could change though. Next week's update focuses on something completely different.

Thanks for this Dave. It is a lot softer on my poor eyes. Especially at the moment with rotten hay fever. As I am mostly on in my mornings and have most of my eye problems in the morning this is a lot easier for my eyes to focus on. I have no problem with the white print on black background as I had a typewriter that had a large screen and I could select white print on black background for that and it was a lot easier for me to read.

I will say ahead of time, even though it has probably been the #1 most requested addition, some people might be disappointed with it. It's not a whole new thing that will completely change the site. In fact, it's actually a kinda small addition. What I'm saying is, don't expect some huge change.

I just put on the Dark format now :D It is very mysterious and gothic! I like it! :D Although I think I prefer the Steel version better. I'll keep this for now and see how I go...
