How do you cut out the picture from the background?

Ok, so I have no clue if you'll even be able to understand what Im talking about, but here goes:

Ive seen siggys where people have cut the birds out of the main picture so its just the birds... then they put them on a background... I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to do this, because I really want to be able to do this for my siggys

It depends on what program you're using.

You CAN do it on Paint...but it's really hard and doesn't look really good. You can also do with Photobucket editor.

Some other free programs you can use are Paint.NET and the Gimp. I have both. I can't figure out Paint.NET but I have done some stuff on Gimp.

PhotoShop is probably the best though. But you have to pay for it.

Yes, your new sig is very lovely. I agree with keet_tweet, Photoshop is the best option but it costs quite a lot of money to get. It's an awesome program though. I wouldn't use Pain either, it might come out a bit messy. A person I know says Paint.net is great as well.

as you can see its not very good. I just can't figure out how to work other photo manipulating devices. thats why Im using Collage Creator- it came with my PC

The term you are asking about is called cropping..you want to know how to crop the image out of an original photo....Photoshop is probably the best, my mom has that cuz she does lots of art type things...I just have printshop which is more of a card making software, but I like it...I have never tried cropping with paint or photobucket........The key to cropping is patience and zooming in on the image so you can get good detail! I think on photoshop it sort of crops the image on its own when you select the image so that is why it is easier and does a nice job....the others I think you have to select every crop spot........
