I'd like to start feeding Miko some fruits and whatever else budgies can eat. I tried once with a piece of apple and he wasn't afraid of it but he wouldn't bite it. I also tried with strawberry. I was wondering if there is some kind of grass I could feed him too. ? How can I get Miko to try these things?

Try Cheerios too, I sware my daughters dont get a look in with my budgies and my hamster lol. Nah I only give them as a treat. I slice apple up into tiny cubes, thats how I do my carrots too..they will eat them. I dont give strawberrys though.

Did your budgies just eat them? or did it take a while for them to try it?
Thanks

Budgies, like humans, do not like certain things, so do not be discoraged if your parakeet won't eat anything. Budgies are capable of eating alot of things. For example, cheerios, popcorn, apples, oranges, carrots, ect. What I do when introducing Star to new foods is dice the food and make it bite size. They won't be scared of something smaller then them and will just love the size. DO NOT put it on the floor of the cage, put it in their bowls and they will eventually know the food is something edible. Make sure non of the things your feeding the bird is poisunous. What Star does when she doesn't like the food is throw it on the floor of the cage. If they are afraid of it let them approach it at their own pace.

Good luck, I hoped I helped!
