Hello and welcome to this forum..your budgie is really pretty..his colour is cobalt..not sure what type of budgie he is though...to me he looks like an Opaline dominant pied..not very good at genetics and colours but was looking at a budgie with similar markings to yours..dont take my word for it but you could ask somebody else what type he is.

Male or female? I think female as it seems to be turning browner as she get older. And I definately can't see any blue. This photo is from awhile ago...

The males will have a blue or purpleish-blue cere for normal varieties, and bright violet or pink for the varieties recessive pied, lutino/albino, dark-eyed clear, lacewing, and fallow.
So my budgie's a recessive pied with a pink cere?

One day I think my Eddie is male..then the next his cere looks pinky coloured..I aint got a clue..I thought he and Joey was preening eachother because thats what they do, but I'm getting worried that they may try and mate. Eddie is aggresive and they dont get on in the same cage so are seperate still, but I do let them out to play together. Joeys cere is really blue but Eddies is very pale almost like a pale lavender colour. Only time will tell hey.
