So, lately, well since maybe Friday last week... Yellow is so loud!!!
Is this like a hormone thing maybe?

She is ussually very quiet and chattery... she'll do the loud alarm type chirps maybe for a little while in the a.m. But never ever like this before. It's not like the yelling type chirping it's just the really really really loud chirp. It's not even the pretty little chirps and chatters it's just the same loud brain splitting chirp over and over  haha

Sometimes she would do this for like a second and I would just go get her and put her on my shoulder or play with her and she'll stop, but not now! She'll play with me but the wholllleee time it's CHIRP CHIRP CHIRP CHIRP CHIRP hahahhaa it's like she has some button she can't turn off:)

maybe I just spoiled her and I have to ignore this? It's not like yelling but maybe it's for attention? but then when I give her attention recently she just keeps going:)

Obviously she's a bird and she's gonna chirp:) It's just a little out of character for her and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas? :)

THANKS!

I remember in the first 3 months I had Rainbow she was really quiet and not too loud but as she matured she started squawking away like she was a flock of budgies under attack and while doing that she would bob her head up and down really fast. :p So maybe Miss. Yellow is going threw her maturing stage... maybe the males like a female with a big mouth because I find they tend to scream more than sing lol.

Her cere did just turn brown within the last 2 weeks!

I wish she would sing her pretty songs loud! haha

Yes, it is a maturing thing. When they are young I guess their voice are not develop yet.

wait... do you mean not a loud chirp chrip call but like a LOUD, SHrieKing, Screeching screaming noise over and over right? Like how can such a tiny budgie, make such a loud noise right? because my male has been doing that like more so than usual too.... its like we're all like "WHATS WRONG?!" why does he keep shrieking like that? Is he moody or something?! but hes a happy budgie, really hyper.... i think they just want attention?
my female chirps a lot but doenst scream like that....

Not like the Yelling noise. My other budgie growing up would Yell alot when we would walk by .

This loud chirp would be pretty even - at a lower volume:)

I just thought also that maybe it's becuase we were just camping for 10 days???

This sounds like a fire alarm.. not the screaming. Really loud! Like normally she'll do it once in a while mixed in with normal singing, or in the morning. but this is a lot all of a sudden, and it goes on for like 2 hours at a time. Through eating, through playing. It's almost comical.

She's not moody at all. She'll even be CHIRP CHIRPing really loud while she picking at my hair, or giving kisses, she's still all lovey dovey just with the loud alarm siren ringing.

She is really hyper and needs constant attention, that's why I was thinking she's just spoiled. But here cere just turned brown so I was also thinking it's like hormones ...

I think I'll try getting her a few new toys to cycle through. Maybe she's just bored.

My previous budgie Tsiek (RIP my sweetie) used to do that CONSTANTLY when she was broody, she used to YELL those really loud heavy chirps at me and get all excited ... I was her "male" as far as she was concerned and she kept laying eggs for me.

*Just as I posted this, I looked at old pics of Tsiek again... aww I miss my Tsiek!! :(
